improv & sketch comedy in hawaii
Project Genre is On The Spot’s signature class on how you can make original improvised plays based on your favorite genres of theatre, film and tv. Running every Saturday for six weeks starting on February 6, Project Genre will provide improvisers and actors with tools, structure and techniques that you will be able to use create exciting new work.
Some of the styles students have used to create shows in the past include Twilight Zone, Buddy Cop, Disaster Movie, Western, Office Comedy and 80′ teen angst films. What kind of show would you like to make?
This year’s project genre class will be taught by OTS Educational Director R Kevin Garcia Doyle based on techniques developed by On The Spot under the direction of Garrick Paikai. Contact R. Kevin directly on Facebook or at r.kevin.doyle@gmail.com for more information including cost and payment methods.
