Two Person Scenes Workshop

Two-person relationships are the backbone to any improv scene. No edits, no sweeps, just you and your scene partner having a scene together filled with joy and spontaneity.  This class will help you practice for stronger scene initiations, continue to be in the moment, and how to “yes and” to the fullest.

Class length: Six 2 1/2 hour classes = 15 hours of instruction
Prerequisite: Some improv or theatre experience needed

Jordan Savusa has been a working actor, comedian, and improviser for the last fifteen years.  Since moving from his home state of Hawaii to the mainland to pursue comedy, he has become an ensemble member at premier sketch and improv comedy theater The Second City in Chicago, Illinois. Sketch Comedy Writing 101: The Basics

This course is an introduction to the philosophy on sketch comedy, specifically using “the game” to write short comedic scenes. Each week students will engage in writing exercises that will explore different sketch formats. Students will be exposed to different methods for turning funny ideas into even funnier written sketches. Students will leave the class with an understanding of popular sketch formats and a portfolio of writing. No prior sketch writing experience is necessary — the only requirement for this class is a desire to write and learn. Students should have access to a computer and be prepared to work outside of class. Class length: Six 2 hour classes = 12 hours of instruction Prerequisite: No Experience Needed Max class size: 10

This class will take the tools learned in our 101 Basics classes and apply them to comedic long form improv scenes.
