improv & sketch comedy in hawaii
In this Acting 201 Class, students will apply tools learned in Acting 101 to current and recent TV/Film scenes with expert guidance from their instructor. Each week, participants will be given new scenes to work on with a partner, as well as a self-tape exercise to keep their audition muscles warm. Recommended for students 18 and over.
At the end of this class, students will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a small group of invited guests.

Elizabeth “Bipsie” Rian
About the instructor: Originally from Honolulu, Elizabeth “Bipsie” Rian received her BFA in Theatre Performance from Chapman University in California. Her professional acting credits include Jane The Virgin (CW), Magnum P.I. (CBS), and most recently Jamojaya with director Justin Chon (Pachinko, Chief of War, Blue Bayou). In 2021, Bipsie starred in the original short Wasteland, which she also produced and wrote. A graduate of UH Labin Manoa, Bipsie is thrilled to be back home working with the Hawaii TV, Film, and Theatre community.
