In this Acting 101 Class, students will learn the basics to laying a solid foundation for their work. Through individual and group exercises, participants will begin to identify precise wants, obstacles, and resolutions in a script. With many productions coming to film in Hawaii, this class is perfect for the curious beginner, or the seasoned actor looking to stay warm. No experience needed. Recommended for students 18 and over.
At the end of this class, students will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a small group of invited guests.

Elizabeth “Bipsie” Rian
About the instructor: Originally from Honolulu, Elizabeth “Bipsie” Rian received her BFA in Theatre Performance from Chapman University in California. Her professional acting credits include Jane The Virgin (CW), Magnum P.I. (CBS), and most recently Jamojaya with director Justin Chon (Pachinko, Chief of War, Blue Bayou). In 2021, Bipsie starred in the original short Wasteland, which she also produced and wrote. A graduate of UH Labin Manoa, Bipsie is thrilled to be back home working with the Hawaii TV, Film, and Theatre community.
