Established 2001\, On the Spot from Aiea Hawaii\, have been entertaining audiences all across the country with their unique brand of improvised theater. The group has been called one of the most innovative improv groups in the world by Chicago Improv Festival Executive Producer Jonathan Pitts for their unique approach to improvised theatre. DESCRIPTION:As a Part of their Academy of Improv Classes “On the Spot Improv” presents their  “Musical Improv 101” classes in improvised singing. In this class students will delve into the world of musical improv. “On The Spot Improv” will teach an 8 week class on improvised singing. Students will have ave fun making up thier own songs with a live musical improviser every week. the class will cover topics such as song structure\, song styles\, song presentation\, improvising lyrics\, Free style rapping\, improvising duets\, and short form singing games\, This is one of our most popular classes and only gets offered once or twice a year. You don’t need to be a great singer to take this class\, you just need to enjoy singing. the space is limited.\n​\n​NEXT CLASS SESSION: May 11\, 18\, 25\, June 1\, 8\, 15\, and 29 at The ARTS at Marks Garage. Classes starts at 12:00pm to 2:00pm. there are 8 Class Sessions. Cost: $250 for all eight classes of $40 for one drop in class

This class focuses on the honing your acting chops to polish your improv skills. Among the things students will learn in this class are the fundamentals of acting using Uta Hagen\, Viola Spolin\, and Meisner acting techniques\, How to develop strong characters instantly\, and an introduction to narrative story telling.\n​\n​NEXT CLASS SESSION STARTS – Saturday May 18 at The ARTS at Marks Garage Classes starts at 10:00am to 12:00pm. there are 8 Class Sessions. In this class students will learn the Fundamentals of Long Form Narrative improv and Keith Johnstone’s Storytelling theory\, The dynamics of a story arch\, and the character archetypes.
