The Wolves’ off-the-wall antics guarantee a fun night of unscripted comedy. DESCRIPTION:About the Class: \nHead Sillypino and Founder of Improvhi\, Kimee Balmilero will be starting up an 8 week beginning improv at the Kahala Corner Studios in…erm…Kahala. \nIn this class\, students will learn the basic of tools of long form improv and start to create comedic scenes. At the end of the program\, students will perform an open showcase so they can show off their newly found skills.\nLimited Space.\nFirst Class: 4/20 6-9pm (no class on Memorial Day) \nKimee will also be hosting 2 one night workshops for students to get a little taste of the class : \nMonday\, April 6th and Monday\, April 13th from 6pm – 8pm \nIf students register for the 8 week\, their fee will go towards the $235 class fee \nMore about Kimee:  \nHawaii born actor\, Kimee Balmilero has been performing professionally since 1994 thanks to her first paying gig as “Woody Woodpecker” at an Earth Day Fair.  Other professional credits include: The 3X Emmy Nominated series “Hi-5\,” the Original Broadway Cast of “Mamma Mia\,” “Miss Saigon\,” and “Hawaii Five-0.” While working in NYC and LA for 15+ years\, she studied improv and sketch comedy at the famed Uprights Citizens Brigade Theatre. A member of the award winning sketch comedy troupe “Drug Puppy”\, Kimee has performed at such venues as: UCB in LA\, Second City-Hollywood\, iO West\, Radio City Music Hall and the Kodak Theater. \nNow living back in Hawaii since 2012\, you can catch Kimee performing sketch & improv comedy and teaching improv to kids and adults in Kaka’ako and around the island.  She is the founder and “Head Sillypino” of  improvhi.com a website dedicated to sketch and improv comedy in Hawaii. \nWhen not drooling over improv\, diner spaghetti and spumoni\, Kimee enjoys karaoke-ing\, garage sale-ing\, instagram-ing and pretending like she’s a contestant on “Top Chef.”

DESCRIPTION:May The 4th Be With You \nAs a part of “The May The Fourth Be With You International Star Wars Fan Day” On The Spot Improv is hosting 2 readings of William Shakespeare’s The Jedi Doth return. On Saturday May 2 at 7:30pm and Sunday May 3 at 2:00 pm at the ARTS at Marks Garage. A group of eight actors will perform a dramatic stage reading along with shadow puppets.  \nThis is an interactive show where the audience will join the cast in providing sound effect as well as singing the musical score. Audience members are encouraged to dress in cosplay\, bring their light sabers\, and Nerf dart guns\, to be a part of the battle.  After the show on Saturday\, stick around for a Star wars theme Party.

Characters are richer\, instantly fleshed out and exciting\, all leading to playing people you’ve never inhabited\, in scenes you’ve never before played. More being…less thinking! \nAbout the Instructor \nDavid Razowsky is the respected former artistic director of the Second City Los Angeles. As a performer at Second City he worked with Steve Carrel\, Stephen Colbert\, Rachel Dratch\, and Chris Farley\, among others. David has directed Second City in Chicago\, Los Angeles\, Detroit\, and The Second City National Touring Company. David is a consultant for Dreamworks\, and has directed two of Amsterdam’s Boom Chicago theatre’s productions– RockStars\, and Live at the Leidseplein – Your Privacy is Our Business. He is a member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company\, and performed in their sold-out run The Complete Works of William Shakespeare\, Abridged at the Kennedy Center in Washington\, D.C. He is a co-founder of The Annoyance Theatre\, and has written for The Simpsons Comic\, The Simpsons nationally syndicated Sunday comic strip\, and was commissioned to write a film treatment for The Simpsons’ creator Matt Groening. David is the voice of Dixon\, the world’s coolest adult\, in ABC’s animated series\, The Weekenders\, and has appeared on Spin City\, Roseanne\, and Late Night with David Letterman as the voice of Albert Brook’s parrot. Dave will be in Honolulu to teach master classes in May 2015.

Some of us play on the stage of everyday life\, trying to speak and behave like “normal” human beings. Stagecraft is the technical skills of acting: blocking\, vocals\, physicality. These are the skills that help keep an audience engaged so they will listen to what you’re saying. \nJune’s Improv Skills Drop-In improv classes are focused on training your stagecraft skills to be a more dynamic performer and speaker.
