DESCRIPTION:This course is an introduction to sketch comedy\, specifically using “the game” to write short comedic scenes. Each week students will engage in writing exercises that will explore different sketch formats. Students will be exposed to different methods for turning funny ideas into even funnier written sketches. DESCRIPTION:Continue building on the concept of “Game” and refine your individual voice in more intimate setting. This class will function as “writers’ room” and will offer you opportunities to pitch ideas to others and collaborate with other students on assignments in class. You will also get to hone individual pieces through rewriting.  \nStudents must bring a 3-4 page sketch to the FIRST session of class. This first sketch should be written utilizing the concept of the “Game of the Scene\,” taught in Intro to Sketch Writing. DESCRIPTION:This course is an introduction to the philosophy on sketch comedy\, specifically using “the game” to write short comedic scenes. Each week students will engage in writing exercises that will explore different sketch formats. Students will be exposed to different methods for turning funny ideas into even funnier written sketches.
