Perfect class to take for people wanting better presentation skills and who want to work on their public speaking. DESCRIPTION:Laughtrack Theater Company welcomes home from Chicago our prize alum\, our improv pride and joy\, our golden boy turned improviser badass for a two-day workshop and post-Thanksgiving show that is open to all LTC students and graduates. \nWorkshop participants can sign up for one or both days in advance of the workshop\, scheduled for November 23 and 24. Space is limited for each class and pre-registration is required. Enrollment is on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nHanada\, a local boy from Mililani turned Chicago transplant\, has been improvising — and loving it — since 2007. He has been teaching the art of improvisation since 2010\, and is responsible for implanting the imrov bug in people all across this universe (seriously). He is currently the Development Director for Chicago Improv Productions and is performing in their Education Outreach program and touring company\, while coaching the improv troupe\, The Rebound. \nWORKSHOP #1 – Date: November 23 (Saturday) \nBreaking Harold \nThis workshop will challenge students to take those Harold training wheels off! \nIn Breaking Harold students will probe even deeper into the Harold form by focusing on organic openings\, group commitment and expanding the beats of a scene. It’s a great way to explore your creativity\, hone presentation skills\, explore spontaneity\, work without a script\, and become more confident and comfortable speaking in front of others. Students will learn the basic functions of improvised scene by creating characters and relationships while being in “the moment”\, they will learn to trust their instincts by developing the art of “yes and-ing” your scene partner\, explore different forms and styles as well as techniques\, learn to think on your feet and expand team building skills; all while having fun once a week in a safe\, non-judgmental environment. \nEach class meets once a week for an eight-week term \nThe introductory Level is the first of three class levels in the Fundamentals of Improv with Shannon Winpenny program.
