The Wolves’ off-the-wall antics guarantee a fun night of unscripted comedy. Larissa loves to share the magic of improv and taught the Laughtrack Theater Company’s Youth & Teen Improv program twice. Larissa has studied improvised theater under Second City master level trainer Jeff Griggs and Chicago Improv Festival Executive Producer Jonathan Pitts as well as the training programs with both of Hawaii’s other improv schools. Her talent and drive garnered her an invitation as one of 8 improvisers invited to an exclusive coaching class taught by Griggs. She has appeared as a performer at Hawaii’s Improvaganza Festival for 4 years\, and coached 3 teams into the festival’s spotlight. DESCRIPTION:Improv builds important everyday skills.  If you want to get faster on your toes\, interact better with others\, progress as a performer\, or just make new friends\, improv training can help you build the skills you need.  More and more businesses are using improv training to enhance their employees’ communication and teamwork skills and build self-confidence. Performers of all arts as well\, from actors to comedians and more\, find improv classes helpful to keep their skills sharp in between shows and receive performance level notes from the instructor.  \n“All the world’s a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.”\n― Seán O’Casey \nWe all have our stage.  Scripted and improvised actors and stand-up comedians have an actual stage.  Some of us play on the stage of everyday life\, trying to speak and behave like “normal” human beings.  Stagecraft is the technical skills of acting: blocking\, vocals\, physicality.  These are the skills that help keep an audience engaged so they will listen to what you’re saying. \nAbout the Program\nDecember’s Improv Skills Drop-In improv classes are focused on training your stagecraft skills to be a more dynamic performer and speaker.  Topics to be covered include: physicality\, space work\, vocals\, and theatricality. \nAbout the Instructor\nDrew McCalmon has over 15 years improv and theater performance experience. He received his improvisational training in Florida from the renowned SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando where he was a show host as well as well as a member of Generation ‘S’. Drew is also an alumni member of Absent Minded Improv in Orlando and Comedy Buffet in Winter Haven. Since moving to Hawaii in 2012 Drew has become an active member in the improv community and joined Think Fast soon after arriving. DESCRIPTION:Patrick Babbitt of IO West will be in Honolulu for a one night workshop teaching the format “The Pretty Flower.”Some improv experience or training is required for this workshop. This workshop is the launch the Art of Improv: Level 3 – Format and Form program. Pretty Flower and it’s variants will be taught\, practiced\, and refined for the first 8 week program. \n20 spaces available.\n$30 Early Registration until July 21st.\n$50 General Registration after.\nWorkshop to be held at HIFI COOP located at Ward Warehouse\, Level 2 (above T&C\, across from Other Realms Comics) \nABOUT THE FORM –\nby Patrick Babbitt\n“Pretty Flower” is a form that centers around a group scene. Two (or more) actors break off and do a new scene to explore a character from the initial group game. Throughout the show we continue to return to the group scene as well as break off from it to explore characters. The center of the flower is the Group Scene and the pedals are the exploratory Two Person Scenes. It’s a great form for a group that is looking for another option than the Harold. \nABOUT PATRICK-\nPatrick studied and performed at Second City and IO in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles where he performs at IO West with the House Harold team Tub Step. He is also part of the sketch show Hot Butt which performs at Second City Hollywood\, UCB and the Comedy Central Stage. He can be seen on NBC’s Community as well as Newsreaders on Adultswim. He has taught workshops at Chicago Center of the Performing Arts\, Lollapalooza\, Indianapolis Fringe and at Theatre Sports Vancouver. \n

DESCRIPTION:Get ready to laugh with Think Fast! and friends! Chinatown’s improv team Think Fast! will be hosting and performing a night of comedic good times at the “Improv Brew-Haha”! Audience members will be treated to a show completely made-up and inspired by suggestions they give! \nEvery last Saturday of the month\, Think Fast! welcomes all improvisers to pop in before the show and create new teams that very night! Throughout the night\, Think Fast! will also perform their favorite short form games\, as well as their stylized long form piece for the evening. \nDoors open at 7:30pm and the show begins at 8pm. There will be one 10 minute intermission and a bar with a variety of beverages available. Tickets are $10 at the door only at the Ong King Arts Center located on 184 N.King Street. Street parking is available as well as at the Chinatown Municipal Parking Structures located all throughout Chinatown\, notably on River Street and Nimitz Hwy for $3.
