SUMMARY:Oil in the Alley presents..."Stand up and ROCK!"
DESCRIPTION:OIL IN THE ALLEY headlines this Tuesday evening show at Hawaiian Brian’s Showroom\, which features standup comedy from Jose Dynamite\, Jordan Savusa\, Patrick Tyrrell\, and Keith Moore starting at 8 pm\, followed by funnyman Harold Wong on guitar and Improvrock from OIL IN THE ALLEY (who will hit the stage at 9:30). Anthony Silano hosts the event. \nWhen: 8 pm Tuesday March 19 \nWhere: Hawaiian Brian’s Showroom at 1680 Kapiolani Boulevard\, behind 24 Hour Fitness. \nHow Much: $8 general admission / $5 for students or military with ID. \nand for just a few dollars more\, you can buy Oil in the Alley’s acoustic “Reunion Tour” album on iTunes: \nhttp://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/oil-in-the-alley/id554769074 \nThis is Oil in the Alley’s first show of 2013. \nABOUT the OIL IN THE ALLEY: \nOIL IN THE ALLEY were arena rock superstars twenty years ago and now they’re back! That’s the premise—in reality\, veteran improvisers R. Kevin Garcia Doyle and Sean T.C. O’Malley improvise all the lyrics of Oil’s ‘classic hits’ backed by stellar musicians Eric Folk on drums and Brian X on bass \nIt’s like a concert. It’s like an improv comedy show. It’s like nothing else you’ve ever seen. \nOIL will perform a 30+-minute set of improvised rock songs with all the trappings. They’ve got great music. They’ve got attitude. \nThey’ve got a unique show: unlike most improv shows\, you won’t see the performers break character or ask for suggestions with an Emcee persona. The show uses Invisible Improv\, with song title “suggestions” flowing naturally from the interactions between superstar rockers and you\, their superfans. \nOIL IN THE ALLEY has improvised over 270 songs with shows at LaughTrack Theatre\, Mark’s Garage\, The Dragon Upstairs\, at the Improvaganza Festival of Improv\, at the O’ahu Fringe Festival\, and on the Mainstage at the Hawaii Book and Music Festival. OIL IN THE ALLEY has been performing since December of 2009. \nFor more photos and video links\, as well as lyrics to songs improvised live onstage\, visit the OIL IN THE ALLEY facebook page at \nwww.facebook.com/oilinthealley \n
