Jimmy is a highly recommended improv instructor who is best known for his improv podcast\, “The Improv Nerd”. \nWhat will the workshop cover?\nFrom Jimmy: We will focus on the art of slow comedy method of improv – learning to play things real\, bringing emotion to our scenes\, not worrying about being funny\, letting it come to you. This means Working organically off your partner and finding everything we need there. That is the foundation. From there\, we’ll focus on doing quality two-person scenes and some simple long forms that will support the art of slow comedy method. Of course\, we’ll adjust based on what the class specifically tells me what they need in the moment since I’m improvising along with them to discover what we need to learn. \nMore About Jimmy:\nJimmy Carrane has been teaching and performing improv in Chicago for more than 25 years. He is the host of the Improv Nerd podcast and co-author of “Improvising Better: A Guide to the Working Improviser.” He is the former host of Studio 312 on Chicago Public Radio. His class\, the Art of Slow Comedy\, won the 2012 INNY Award for Best Comedy Class/Workshop.
